10 Tips to Prep You for Your Wedding Day
March 3, 2021

Let’s face it, all the tiny little last minute things that you need to do before your big day can be so overwhelming! Plus forgetting just one little thing can cause major stress to your mental health and no Bride or Groom needs that before their wedding day.  Never fear, we are here to help!  Check out our TOP 10 TIPS to help prepare you for your wedding day and eliminate any pre-wedding stress!

1. If you haven’t already, hire a wedding planner or wedding coordinator!

A wedding coordinator or planner is there to help! AND they can help alleviate any stress from you and your family. A coordinator will be there on the day of to execute the day; think keeping everyone on schedule, set up, arising problems, and clean up so your family doesn’t have to. A planner is your coordinator but they help you plan the wedding too.

2. Prepare your “Shot List” for your Photographer and Videographer

Make a list of the family members, friends and groups of people you want formal photos with. Also make a list of moments and areas of your venue you want captured. Your photographer and videographer may not shoot it if they don’t know you want it!

3. Make all of your final payments 2 weeks before the wedding

Two weeks before the wedding is when you should be paying all of your final invoices to your vendors. This way you don’t have to worry about it the week before your wedding! Money is stressful, so get it out of the way and over with.

4. Pack for the Honeymoon.

This is something you do not want to rush or push to the last minute. You want to make sure you have everything you need and you’re not scrambling and stressing.

If you’re not going on your honeymoon right away, have your wedding night bag packed!

Designate someone responsible to make sure your belongings are in your exit car at the end of the wedding so you have it.

5. Delegate who goes home with what.

You’re going to have lots of items that need to leave your wedding venue after the wedding. Gifts, decor, marriage license, flowers, leftover food and alcohol, etc. All of that has to go home with you, it can’t be left at your venue. Delegate several family members to bring empty cars to load it all and take it with them. We suggest at least two large empty cars.

6. Get your Marriage License!!

This may be the most important thing you do. You need your marriage license so you can legally be married! Check out your city and county laws about when to get the marriage license and what paperwork you need to bring to get it.

You and your partner BOTH need to get this TOGETHER in the county that you’re getting married in. Make it a date!

7. Organize and label everything for your wedding.

Separate the things you’re bringing for the wedding day into separate boxes for Ceremony, Cocktail Hour, Reception, and Details for your wedding coordinator/planner and vendors. This way everything is organized, listing where it’s going, and it makes for easy clean up at the end of the night.

8. Have all of your jewelry cleaned.

This one is pretty self explanatory. Bling should BLING!

9. Do not try new things.

The month before your wedding is NOT the month to try anything new. Stick to your same  routine. No new skincare items or procedures, no major or new haircuts, no new foods, and no new adventurous activities. You want to keep your body healthy! Nothing worse than an acne rash, allergic reaction, or broken bone right before your wedding. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. You can try it after the wedding!

10. Soak it in & enjoy it.

You’re going to have so many emotions and nerves leading up to the wedding. That week before your wedding should be set aside for you to soak everything in. Relax, pamper yourself, accept help, and just enjoy your wedding week!
